BESPOKED, Dresden, Germany, September 11 - 13, 2026

Next step.....You guessed it. I head to Dresden, Germany in a couple of weeks to Bespoked to exhibit Óbyggðir Þórs - Thor's Wildlands - September 11 - 13.

I’ll bring the bicycle I built and rode across Iceland to Bespoked. I’m not there to sell to bicycles but present the program at Iowa. My work is teaching and research, and the bicycle, Óbyggðir Þórsr, embodies that work. It connects designing and making with landscape, endurance, collaboration, and lived experience.

I’ve also decided not to anodize or completely refinish it. Just take a scoth pad to spots and degrease things. The finish carries the landscape of the journey back onto the bicycle itself, right?!

The graphic below will be printed on canvas and laid on the wooden base that my bicycle sits on at the exhibition. (And don’t forget to come to Dresden, Germany!).

What you can’t see in the photo are the pagans dancing naked during the eclipse.
